Football Pickoff
A custom Multisite application for private football pick competitions with league creation, player onboarding, picks, standings, commissioner controls, automation, and mobile-first workflows.
Football Pickoff is a custom WordPress Multisite application I designed and developed to run private football pick competitions across independently managed leagues. Rather than using WordPress as a traditional publishing platform, I built a full application layer around it with custom player, commissioner, and network-level workflows.
The platform handles league creation and onboarding, passwordless authentication, player approvals and invitations, weekly picks with kickoff-based locking, standings and tiebreakers, commissioner controls, payment-status tracking, automated transactional email, schedule management, and network-wide administration. Each league operates as its own site within the Multisite network while sharing the same underlying application and NFL data.
A major focus of the build has been making complex league management feel simple on both desktop and mobile. The system continues to evolve through real-world use, with new features and workflow improvements added as commissioners and players use the platform throughout the season.
